The cost of the Pet Grooming course is:

*The students grooming toolkit is included in the price of Supplies and Books. This toolkit is more than just a starter grooming kit.  We feel our students should learn with the highest quality tools.  The quality of our student toolkit exceeds what the average groomer is using in their shops today.  It is the complete toolkit necessary to excel in the grooming industry.

Is there financing available?

We currently do not offer financing through the school.  However, we are researching the possibility of offering tuition  assistance through local financial institutions.

Does the school accept credit cards?

Yes, you can use your Visa or MasterCard to pay for all of your schooling except the $150 non-refundable deposit.

When do classes start?

Classes start twice a year: in February and in August.

How many students are in the class?

Each class contains between 3-4 students.  We keep our class size small so we can offer personalized quality training.  This assures that when a graduate goes to work in the field, they will have the solid skills and abilities to be a professional groomer.

How many days a week are classes?

For the first 8-10 weeks, classes are Tuesday and Wednesday 8am-4pm.  After the initial training, we schedule the students for more day per week according to your needs and schedule.

How long does the course take to complete?

This depends on your motivation.  The course requires that you complete 300 hours of training. After the initial 8-10 weeks, we can schedule you for more than two days per week.

What kind of equipment will I learn on?

Betty's Pet Grooming School is fortunate to have the latest in grooming technology. You will learn with the same or better equipment used in shops today.  Because if our reputation we have grooming equipment companies calling us to try out their latest and best equipment.  This will increase your confidence and success in the grooming world.

Do I work on live animals?

Yes.  Each animal requires a different grooming technique.  At our school you will be exposed to a wide variety of dogs and cats each day.  This increased experience will give you the confidence to excel upon graduation.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes.  You will receive a certificate of completion from Betty's Pet Grooming School after successfully completing the written and practical tests, an average of 4 grooms a day, and the required 300 hours of schooling.

Will you help in job placement after I complete the course?

Our school maintains an extensive list of job openings, as well as, grooming business for sale. We also can assist you in setting up your own grooming business.

Betty's Pet Grooming School is fully licensed by the State of Oregon Department of Education Privates Career Schools Section.

Does Oregon require a grooming license?

No.  However, completion of our school assures that you have the necessary skills to find a job and stand out in the grooming industry.

What is a Certified Master Groomer?

Graduates who wish to further their education may complete the certification process to increase credibility and recognition as a professional. Currently, there are three different organizations that certify groomers in the United States. Betty's Pet Grooming School helps prepare its graduates for testing.
